For Elite Athletes, Training and Conditioning is a Daily Event

“I’ve been doing it this way for 25 years! I know how to sell and there’s nothing new you can tell or show me!”

I’m sure you’ve heard this or something like it. There will always be those who don’t think they need training. They believe that their experience, their recent performance, or a combination of both, qualifies them as experts who don’t need to improve.

It’s the old “exemption” argument. In their own minds, they believe they should be exempt from training.

What do today's Olympic athletes all have in common?

They have reached the top levels of performance and have a unique perspective about training. When you consider these top athletes, you begin to understand the level of dedication required to be the best.

Training is even more important as you get older and “more experienced.”

The only reason hall of fame quarterback Brett Favre lasted so long is because of his dedication to training year round. Those who are more experienced have a natural tendency to lose their edge. Unless, of course, they stay on top of their game through training.

A Changing Marketplace

America’s best companies pay millions of dollars every year to keep themselves up on the latest industry trends. They research, they invest, and they train.

Falling behind the competition in even one area of expertise can have disastrous long-term results.
